Mark Keppel took a real "whupping" tonight from Arcadia High, being totally outclassed by the guys from Arcadia. Two Maicos and a Honda with Kevin Corson, Mike Follmer, and Jerry Fanning aboard skunked the field for Arcadia.

Mark Jacobsen from Mark Keppel jumped out in front at the start of the last moto, but his fourth overall wasn't enough to pull his school out of the cellar.

With Azusa and Arcadia, both unbeaten, next week's meeting between these two schools should be a rough, head-to-head confrontation.

Rick Carrisosa, riding in the high school motocross, also rode his Maico in the 500 Intermediate division, which tonight ran together with a short 500 Pro field that containes Jim West and Joe Johnston. Much to everyone's surprise, Rick ran in the top three with the Pros, and in fact, in the second round was running second to Jim West with the hard-charging Joe Johnston in third. This kind of competition got to be a little much for the relatively inexperienced Carrisosa, and after running second for three of the five laps; the heavy-weight pressure got to Rick, and he tipped over, giving him fourth overall in the Intermediates to go with his first overall for Arcadia High.
