They are all taking different lines, but they all look stuck. From the right, it is Happle James, Scott Perry, and Andy Orescanin. Corley photo.

Overcast skies were seen only in the early morning and the sun made it's reappearance for a change. The track was somewhat muddy but not really bad though. The places were I noticed most racers to have a mean and messy time was at the corner before the Webco Tower and at that point the pack is still elbow-to-elbow. The second messiest place was the corner right after the roller coaster hill where people were going down left and right.
So there were a few falls due to the mud situation but I didn't capture anything with the camera quite like I did last week in SAM racing, take a look at last week's SCM cover and you'll see what I'm talking about. The first moto of the day is the combined one between the Intermediates and Experts. This was really a strange race and the results were startling. Why? Well because almost the entire field was wiped out during the final moto so there was a long line of DNF's. The Expert classes were super small and Jack Phillips hooked the 250 win while Frank Steiner did well with the 500 win. Bill Glore soloed the the 125 Expert class and returned to racing after a long lay-off with no machine. Anyway BUI got back into it today and went like a madman, he took a mean fall in the first moto right before a corner. With the start of the second moto I was standing and watching right by the berm before the Webco hill. Many a racer has been known to overshoot that berm after having it wide open from the start and then to my surprise I saw the Whittier Honda of Bill Glore do just that and so did Gary Tomczak.
Paul Boudreau. alias the Bazzer, made it out to Saddleback on Saturday to race his Suzuki test 250. He had fun in the Intermediate class as he cleaned house. Corley photo.
So the Expert classes weren't really where the action was today. The Intermediate classes were packed but it was unreal how guys were disappearing one by one in the final moto as they DNF'ed. Jim Carlson cleaned up in the 125's while Rick Rasmusson and Greg Painter nipped out Paul "Bazzer" Boudreau (I named my dog BAZZER) in the 250's and Scott Scott cleaned up in the 500 Intermediates over Bruce Bridgham on a Seaze eeeee.
