Once again returning to the Indian Dunes racing scene was BCA, today on the tight and twisty Shadow Glen circuit.
Big Pro winners of the day included Gary Huber, Kenny Zahrt and Dave Haugh, all of whom took home top cash for the day. Huber did it in the 125 with a clean sweep, Zahrt in the 250 doing the same and Haugh in the Open with a second and a third.
Gary Huber, mounted on a close to stock, Cole Bros. Honda, had little trouble in capturing the overall victory for the day in the 125 Pro division. Huber started out with a bad start in both 20 minute motos, but had the lead when it counted. Runners up to Huber included Andy Jannings on a Honda, who took a 2-3 score for second. Third fell to Honda-mounted John Forsythe.

A very unfortunate day for the Revell team and a very good one for Ken Zahrt is what would describe the 250 Pro outcome.

Willy Harper i CZ) jumped to an early first moto lead and made it long fast. Back in second was Zahrt with Billy Payne i CZ) and Dave Zahrt right behind. Harper, with a twenty second lead, dropped from the competition with tank problems as Zahrt took over the lead and Billy Payne close by. In fact, too close! Both went wide in a turn and went down and Dave Zahrt motored by for first until brother Kenny and Payne passed him back. Payne then lost his chain and Ken went off with the win. Bultaco-mounted Andy Segale passed the other Zahrt before the flag.
After some first lap mixing, Dave Zahrt emerged the leader with the other Zahrt in second and Payne in third. Both passed Dave Zahrt and were having their own little battle until Payne's fork snapped, leaving him on the ground. Ken just motored off for the win, giving brother Dave riding lessons to a second. Overall, Kenny took home the cash with brother Dave second and Andy Segale third.

Steve's Bultaco mounted Dave Haugh trounced his foes for the Open Pro victory. Runners up included Ron Hasse (Mai) and Billy Payne (Mai).
