Might as well get used to the name. Last week he signed up for the first time with CMC and rode with a the letter A, topping the 500 Intermediates his first time out at Irwindale. To prove it was no fluke, Mike West came back tonight with his Husky, sporting his new assigned CMC number, 29E, then proceeded to top the combined 500 Intermediate Junior field, just as he did last week. Second in the Intermediates went to Trent McGee and third to Byron Hendricks. Taking the brass for first place in the Junior was Yamaha-mounted Jack Halterman. Second and third went to David Valentine and David Thorgmorton. Read More...
World Mini G.P. Draws Huge Crowd Part 1
A full pack of both Saturday Minis make it up the hill during one of the many motos during the World Mini GP. It took three days to get the event off and it ran into the night on both Saturday and Sunday. Many of the kids got really tired waiting for their motos to be run. But there sure was a lot of competition. Hatounian photo.

As it turned out the big bucks race for Pros was cancelled today at Ontario Motor Speedway and I thought that I would of ended up filming there as well. However it was no let down to go to Saddleback because I really dig Bette Lasker's AMC races. They weren't exactly swamped with entries because of the rain I guess but even still the eight-race day lasted till almost the cool of the evening. Read More...

Things got started slow this week and they never seemed to speed up. The signup proceedings took more time than everybody had planned, so practice was delayed until almost 9:30 a.m.
So that set the first moto back until almost 10:30. And the club had to run two 25 minute motos. It was the starting of a very long day.
During practice, everybody got a look at the track, which was in pretty good condition, at least during practice. The jumps had been built up to huge proportions and the back section of the track was in.

In the second moto, Nancy Payne got her Maico 125 all sorted out and went wire-to-wire in the lead. She was looking good, second went to Roberta as she stayed on two wheels for the entire moto and Cheryl Acres rode in for a third. Cheryl looked good in both motos as she captured a fourth in her first round. Chelle Blythe grabbed a fourth. Read More...
