I believe in the past I have written that the Pro classes aren't exactly like they should be at OCIR racing.

Well tonight it ihings are beginning to take new form in the Pro classes and hopefully very soon the starting lines will be jammed with the fastest in the So. Cal area.

Pete Hillebrecht took the win in the 100 Pro class at OCIR against a full house of racers. Corley photo.

The absence of Jeff Ward layed the 100 Expert class wide open to the Harry's Cycle Sales great Pete Hillebrecht who breezed out ahead of the entire pack and hooked second over another Harry's Cycle racer John Gless. It's nice to see both of these guys do well on Elsinores so quickly. Just a little while back both of these guys were dicing side by side on XR-75's! Gless did have a little trouble in one moto though when he fell on the finish line comer. That was easy for me to remember because I had to move his bike over to the side of the track.

Steve Bauer was looking stylish on his trick Collins and Sons Honda as he captured second in the 125 Pro class at OCIR. Corley photo.

Now the real fast Pro who made his reappearance back at OCIR was Mark Tyer who was racing a super fast Honda for Dan of Plastic Fantastic. Mark was stunned in the first moto though when Steve Bauer on the No. 9 Honda made the swift pass and ended up winning that moto. Just before the race Steve was telling me about how he was really going to go after Tyer all the way and he really did. The guy has the potential to dice with probably all the real top 125 Pros on a night track. That was proven against Tyer and also by this photo that I just dug up for Steve where it shows him a short distance ahead of Bruce McDougal in the past. Well Bauer did super in that first moto but Tyer was really on the gas in the next two and jetted ahead of Steve for the overall win while Cliff Lett captured third for FMF over Mark Abrahams (who was whipping a new RN Suz for fun), Arden Hadley and Doug McGowen.
